Long day into final rest day in Santa Barbara / Carpinteria. Also my last cooking day (tomorrow, on the day off). A lot of this day was fun. The early climbs felt bracing, and overall great, Santa Barbara at the end finally made it feel like we are in Southern California. Big, beautiful bouldevards! Palm trees! Heat! "Jerry Day" in the park! I listened to about a half hour of nonstop jamming (unless you count the drum solo, which no-one listened to). A couple of the players had actually played with Jerry Garcia on his "Jerry and Friends" tour. Really good stuff and a wonderful surprise. Campground is packed, loud, but fine.
